Today, we still proudly serve this respected group in addition to those with several other military affiliations. If a member of your immediate family is already a Vantage West member, then you are eligible to join. Getting Started / About Vantage West Credit Union: Once your eligibility is established, becoming a member merely requires you to *open an account with an initial deposit of only $5.00, which is placed into your Vantage West Regular Share (savings) Account. This $5.00 deposit is called your "par value." It is not a fee; it is yours to keep should you ever close your account. However, it must remain in the account for as long as you are a member. Members of Vantage West are also part-owners of the credit union. Members who are 18 years of age or older have the right to vote in the annual Board of Directors election, and on other propositions requiring a membership vote. Once you become a member, you are welcome to apply for additional products and services, which only Vantage West Credit Union members can obtain.
