It's that time of year again. Back to school supplies for your children or for yourself are a significant expense every fall. Sixteen states offer tax holidays to help bring your costs down. Each state has different dates with some exceptions for tax free purchases - no, you can't go out and buy everything tax free. Typical tax free items are for clothing, shoes, school supplies, and computers. You are typically limited in how much you can purchase tax free, so take a friend with you! Below is a list of the states with tax free holidays for school supplies, including the dates of the tax free holiday. [AD]

  • Alabama - August 6-8
  • Connecticut - August 15-21
  • Florida - August 13-15
