Good Morning...I would like to express my experience at your Kailua Branch on Hamakua Street. I took a First Hawaiian Bank cashier's check from American Carpet One to be split in my savings and checking account, but was informed by both the teller and branch manager that the funds will be held for 7 business days as of 11.20.2020 Friday. The manager explained that it's for my protection, that's a really lame explanation. It's my understanding that a CASHIER'S CHECK is a check guaranteed by a bank, drawn on the bank's own funds and signed by a cashier and treated as guaranteed funds because the bank, rather than the purchaser, is responsible for paying the amount. Both the teller and manager told me to go to another bank to cash this CASHIER'S CHECK. My husband and I been a member for sometime now and to be treated in this way is embarrassing and degrading. If there is a lower STAR to RATE this experience it will be 1/2 star rating.
