Dear Personnel: I have been a member of "MFCU" since 2005 and since have made it my primary banking institution. However, like many today we have our financial woes as we "pass through the valleys" in our lives. Now my family faces a real dilemma caused by "MFCU" making up NEW Rules arbitrarily & capriciously and/or providing services without Full disclosure of consequences relevant to administered Loans and Privileged "Overdraft protections". To cut to the chase: 1. During the course of my membership with MFCU I have accrued many NSF Fees which I have not left a single one standing to date. Thus, MFCU has been the sole beneficiary to this financial position of mine. (Please note: This is understandable and not a complaint). 2. THIS is where I do feel unappreciated and disrespected as a MFCU Member. I was provided ample notice of my Membership privileged "overdraft protection" being decreased from $700 to $500 effective Jan 2017. I have No problem with that. However, due to HEALTH matters my wife encountered during the ENTIRE MONTH OF DECEMBER, she did not work that entire month (the account will corroborate this due to NO Payroll deposits). Thus, leaving ALL financial obligations solely upon me. Still, by GOD's Grace I was able to primarily stay borderline in managing our financial affairs. NOW, after being compelled to endure LONG (in-house) waiting periods at this location and being addressed condescendingly by NEW STAFF I'm told I no longer have "overdraft protection"! WHY? As advised, "...your account was over 30 days LATE *(Note:in the RED during December while my wife was dealing with her Health)and our NEW policy is the SYSTEM automatically take you off for 30 days..."! I explicitly advised, I was NEVER made aware of this NEW RULE. Then, I was bluntly advised, "...well, I can't do NOTHING"! I then WAITED from 9:30am-12:45pm (in house) to see newly hired Helen G. Heard, Branch Mgr. I explained my dilemma and she advised that the "30 day LATE overdraft protection" rule was in my original contract (2005). However, HOW COULD THIS BE? I was told from the outset that THIS RULE IS NEW! Still she advised that she will check into this and call me back. Upon her return call at 5:09pm, I was advised by Ms Heard that HOME OFFICE declined my necessary need to retain "overdraft protection" privileges until 6 months. Is this the show of NO Compassion, Understanding or Appreciation of an alleged valued customer? Especially when My monthly SSI Check and my Wife's bimonthly Payroll Check well exceeds $1,500 every month and is on DIRECT DEPOSIT with MFCU. I am at a loss and disappointed to be regarded by MFCU as a valued customer that's appreciated. Therefore, I find myself compelled to begin to seek an alternate "Primary" financial institution that can and will meet my need in accord. THANK YOU and have a Blessed Day!!!
